The Ukrainian Children’s Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic was established in June 2022 at the initiative of the Kraków Philharmonic. It is made up of children who, faced with the difficult situation in Ukraine, were forced to leave their country and have found Poland both shelter and an opportunity for further artistic development. The principal idea behind the choir’s activity is to acquaint audiences with the rich heritage of Ukrainian culture and to support the young singers’ bond with their native traditions.

Over the three years of its activity, the choir has taken part in numerous prestigious artistic projects presented on the stage of the Kraków Philharmonic, has also undertaken a series of concert tours across Poland, and participated in a performance of Hans Krása’s opera Brundibár.

The ensemble is a winner and recipient of the Golden Diploma at the Chorus Inside Warsaw 2023 competition.

Since its establishment, the choir has been led by Olena Yatskulynets, a conductor with long-standing experience of working with children’s and chamber choirs.
