Swiss soprano Gabriela Scherer is internationally acclaimed for her passionate interpretations of roles by Gluck, Mozart, Puccini, Strauss, Verdi, Wagner, and Weber. She appears regularly on major stages including the Bayreuth Festival, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, and the Opéra national de Paris.

Highlights of her 2025/26 season include Irene in the first-ever performances of Rienzi at the Bayreuth Festival, presented on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, her role debut as Alice Ford (Falstaff) at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and Leonore (Fidelio) at Opernhaus Zürich. Recent seasons have brought major role debuts such as Chrysothemis (Elektra), the title roles in Arabella and Tosca, Elsa (Lohengrin), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), and Agathe (Der Freischütz), alongside a strong focus on Mozart, notably as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro).

Gabriela Scherer was a member of the ensembles of Oper Leipzig and the Bavarian State Opera, and works regularly with leading conductors including Riccardo Chailly, Marc Albrecht, Adam Fischer, John Eliot Gardiner, Kent Nagano, Donald Runnicles, and Simone Young.
