Jean-Luc Tingaud is a conductor of international acclaim, recognised for his dynamic presence on both the symphonic and operatic stages. He has conducted many of Europe’s and Asia’s leading orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Tokyo Philharmonic, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2019, Tingaud has served as Principal Guest Conductor of the Beethoven Academy Orchestra. His partnership with the ensemble has resulted in critically acclaimed performances and continues to develop. In December 2025, they embarked on a major tour of China, performing in eight of the country’s most prestigious venues.
In recent years, Tingaud has recorded a major series for Naxos, including works by Dukas, Bizet, Poulenc, d’Indy, Franck, and Fauré, as well as Chausson’s symphony with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Deeply engaged with contemporary music, Tingaud has worked closely with several leading composers, including Krzysztof Penderecki, premiering his final symphonic work. Whether on the opera stage or in the concert hall, Jean-Luc Tingaud brings refined musical intelligence, a strong sense of style, and a consistent commitment to artistic excellence.
