Following her acclaimed debuts as Rusalka alongside Piotr Beczała and as Rachel (La Juive) with Neil Shicoff at the Vienna State Opera, Ukrainian soprano Olga Bezsmertna has become one of today’s most distinguished singers. In the 2025/26 season, she returns to La Scala as Gutrune, Freia, and Ortlinde in David McVicar’s new Ring production, tours Japan with the Vienna State Opera, and records Thomas de Hartmann’s Esther for Pentatone.

Highlights of recent seasons include Freia and Ortlinde (Der Ring des Nibelungen), Sifare (Mitridate), the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Ghita (Der Zwerg), Desdemona (Otello), Rusalka, and Marguerite (Faust). She has appeared at the Salzburg Festival, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Zurich Opera House, and other major venues.

A recipient of the Franco Abbiati Prize, she works with conductors such as Ádám Fischer, Alain Altinoglu, James Conlon, Christian Thielemann, and Franz Welser-Möst.
