Founded in 1988, the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra is the national orchestra of the Principality of Liechtenstein and has earned an outstanding international reputation. It is celebrated by audiences and critics alike for its musicality, precision, and passion.

The orchestra represents Liechtenstein on tour and in guest appearances, most recently at the Tonhalle Maag in Zurich, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg, and the Wiener Konzerthaus. Together with the municipality of Vaduz, it founded the Vaduz Classic Festival, attracting international audiences from across Europe.

The orchestra has worked with distinguished artists including Kit Armstrong, Andrea Bocelli, David Garrett, Maximilian Hornung, the Janoska Ensemble, Jonas Kaufmann, Lang Lang, Lebo M, Sabine Meyer, Fazıl Say, Rolando Villazón, Radovan Vlatković, and Antje Weithaas. It also serves as a platform for emerging soloists, regularly inviting highly acclaimed young talents.

For the 2026 and the following seasons, it has appointed Dawid Runtz its Chief Conductor. The orchestra also works with international guest conductors, including Mei-Ann Chen, Kevin John Edusei, Lawrence Foster, Uroš Lajovic, Wayne Marshall, Giedrė Šlekytė, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, and Yaron Traub.
